The short version: the calculation runs entirely in your browser and nothing you answer is stored — not on our side, and not even in your own browser's storage. Two forms ask for your details: the contact form, and the one that releases your estimate at the end of the calculator. The second one emails us your answers along with them, so that we can see the estimate you built. Both are emails to our inbox and neither writes to a database, because there isn't one.

Using the calculator
You can use every part of this site — the calculator, the complete estimate, the itemised disciplines, cost drivers, timeline, team, architecture, running costs and every assumption — without an account, an email address or a phone number. Nothing is gated.
The estimate is calculated in your browser. Your answers are not sent to a server to produce the result. Disconnect from the network after the page loads and the calculator keeps working.
What is stored on your device
Nothing. Your answers live in the page's memory for as long as the tab is open and are written nowhere — no localStorage, no sessionStorage, no cookies, no IndexedDB. Close the tab or reload the page and they are gone.
The trade-off is deliberate: a reload costs you five answers, and in exchange this site keeps no record of what you were pricing, on your device or ours.
The two forms
This site collects something in exactly two places, and only when you deliberately submit one of them.
The form on the contact page sends us your name, email address, whatever you write in the message, and — if you fill them in, all optional — your phone number, company, budget band and target launch date. Your calculator answers are not attached to it; if you want us to see an estimate you built, you have to paste it in yourself.
The form at the end of the calculator is what releases your estimate. It sends us your name and email address, your phone number and company if you choose to give them, and the answers you gave the calculator — the platforms, industry, app type, scope, traffic band and any compliance regimes you selected. That last part is deliberate: it is how we can see the same estimate you are looking at. It does not include a cost figure, because the answers reproduce it exactly and a number pasted into an email arrives with no confidence band, date or method attached.
Either message is delivered to our inbox as an email and is not written to a database, because there is not one. We use it to reply to your enquiry and for nothing else: no newsletter, no marketing list, no sale or sharing with third parties. The delivery is handled by our email provider, who processes it on our behalf in order to send it.
We keep the correspondence for as long as it is useful to the conversation, and delete it on request — see Your rights below.
Cookies and tracking
This site sets no advertising cookies and runs no cross-site tracking, no remarketing pixels and no third-party ad scripts. There is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to.
Basic server request logs may be produced by our hosting provider as a normal part of serving the site. Those are used for security and reliability, not for profiling.
Third parties
The site is served by a commercial hosting provider. Fonts are served from the site's own origin rather than a font CDN, so no third party sees your requests for them.
The vendor names inside the calculator — Stripe, Twilio, Epic and the rest — are there because they are systems you might integrate into your product. Listing them does not mean this site sends anything to them.
Your rights
Unless you have used the contact form or emailed us, we hold nothing about you and there is nothing to request. If you have written to us — through the form or directly — and want that correspondence deleted, write to [email protected] and we will action it. We will honour a valid request under the CCPA or the GDPR regardless of where you live — it is simpler than deciding which applies.
Children
This is a business planning tool for people commissioning software. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update the date above. Given how little the site collects, most changes here are likely to be clarifications. See also our terms and disclaimer.
